Too Entitled and Clueless Is Just Dangerous.

Updated: Mar 27, 2023

This morning while catching some news (as I usually do) after the fact at my convenience on YouTube, I saw a brief interview from Fox News channel, with Alec Baldwin whose criminal charge of Involuntary Manslaughter is apparently being dismissed or not prosecuted, by authorities in New Mexico. This guy is just the very embodiment of an entitled clueless idiot.

He refuses any responsibility or culpability in the death of a fellow professional who was unfortunate enough to be working with him and trusting in his goodwill and intelligence. Mr. Baldwin has already discharged a serious civil liability for this, to the tune of an undisclosed but likely to have been large settlement with the family of Halyna Hutchins, who was killed by Mr. Baldwin's heedless stupidity, in an entirely avoidable accident. In spite of the civil judgment and in spite of clear culpability, he refuses any responsibility or even any politeness and civility of emotion; and speaks about this event as though it were an unavoidable accident that happened at the hands of someone else.

It is almost certainly the case that I will never in the course of our lives have any good chance of being in the same room with this person, Mr. Alec Baldwin. Accordingly it is entirely moot that I would find it necessary to refuse to meet him and would indeed refuse to be in the same room with him in any place with geological risk of earthquake or other unforeseeable acts of nature, or of man. However, moot or not, I feel better for having recorded my attitude and reaction here. He is not welcome in my house nor in my company, and should that unlikely possibility come to pass, I will indeed enforce my judgment of Mr. Baldwin. Too entitled and too clueless is also just too dangerous for me and mine.
